Ted Bunch is a man that wears many hats. As the co-founder of A Call to Men, a national nonprofit whose mission is to end gender-based violence and discrimination, Bunch spends much of his time promoting equity. He has tasked himself with nurturing a culture of inclusion, where men can work together as a team to reach these ultimate goals together. Among these men are Ted’s own four sons. As they each have grown into men themselves, Ted has made it his personal mission to instill the same values of equity, inclusion, patience, and love into them all while ingraining a bond of unbreakable brotherhood between them. In this way, Ted’s family serves as a model and a group pioneering for the same developed, healthy manhood that A Call to Men serves to proliferate.
Bunch wants men to be accountable for how they play into notions of masculinity rather than be oblivious or reject masculinity altogether. In this way, he believes we can identify issues and present alternative behavior that promotes the ultimate goal of a more healthy and sustainable form of manhood.
